• How Does It Work?

Acupuncture is a style of medical treatment involving the insertion of very fine needles into the skin at precise locations to help the body achieve normal balance and health.  It has been used for thousands of years in the far East, but is still quite new to Western society and viewed as a non-scientific practice.

It actually has an increasing body of scientific and clinical study behind it in the U.S. now and is in fact a very scientific treatment once understood from that perspective.  Dr. Vincent is happy to explain to people how it works and some of the science behind it.

  • Does it hurt?

One of the most common questions or concerns patients have is whether the treatment hurts.

  • What does it work for?

Many Americans feel that acupuncture just works for pain problems, but it actually has very broad application and can be used to help with almost any problem to some degree.

  • How much does it cost?

The cost is related to the complexity of treatment, contact time with the doctor, and whether or not electricity is used in the treatment.  There is also the added cost of the clinic visit.
